Marcus Wilson, President
Marcus holds a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology from Mississippi State University and a MS in Management from Rollins College. After 5 years with Texas Instruments in sales, he began a long career with Intel in 1978. Beginning in the Southeastern US as Field Sales Engineer, he quickly rose into management as District Sales Manager, then Southern Region Sales Manager. In 1986, he became Director of Corporate Strategic Accounts, conducting worldwide sales strategy and coordination of Intel's top 20 customers and developing a new simpler process to accomplish the mission and re-deploy the department.
In 1988, Marcus was named General Manager of Intel's $80M Automotive Division, which developed, manufactured, and sold Micro Controllers to the Automotive Industry. He led the turn-around in profitability by developing new business strategy and focus. He developed efficiency model for Micro Controllers and microcomputer business at Intel, growing the division to $200M. In 1991, he was promoted to Vice President of Semiconductor Products Group and GM of the Embedded Microcomputer Division. With factories located in Asia, Europe, and the US, this division, which designed, manufactured, and sold computer chips primarily used in electric control, was a world-wide operation generating over $600M in sales. By restructuring the business, its strategy, and reorganizing its worldwide realignment, he greatly improved profit and utilization of Intel's assets; he grew the Division from $400M to $800M.
In 1994, he continued in his VP role with the added responsibility of GM of Group Strategic Planning. He designed and deployed the Group's Divisional Marketing Programs with the Geographic Marketing Departments world wide while redefining the Mission/Vision/Objective. He also led the development of a new Group strategy that aligned Intel's SPG (Semiconductor Products Group) with the corporate agenda thereby increasing Shareholder value. Additionally, Marcus was involved in training in Intel University and developed Strategy development tools to facilitate the strategy redesign process and then evangelized the realignment and implementation/restructuring of SPG.
Although he has spent most of last 9 years in entrepreneurial ventures as a consultant to Angel investors and in Business Management, he returned to Intel for a year to help manage the resolution of multiple manufacturing, engineering, and supplier/material problems that potentially impacted customers and the launch of Pentium II, plus numerous unannounced products.
